La forteresse de Dakar a été fondée par l’autorité coloniale française. Cependant il existait aux alentours un village d’autochtones dont le nom a été déformé pour nommer cette forteresse. Je me ferais un plaisir de vous faire découvrir Dakar à travers ces différents quartiers. A la fin de cette visite vous aurez une bonne compréhension de comment Dakar est constituée. Vous aurez appris un peu d’histoire, la gastronomie, notre culture et le train de vie des locaux. Vous pourrez ensuite retournez visitez certaines zones que vous aurez découvertes.

La visite de cette grande métropole africaine sera composée ainsi:
 Au Sud - Centre-ville qui tourne autour d’une place de l’indépendance qui en est le Cœur et où se situent le palais présidentiel, l’Assemblée nationale, la cathédrale du souvenir africain
 A l’est - Médina qui est l’un des premiers quartiers de Dakar
o A Cité des ambassadeurs, quartier résidentiel
o Les quartiers populeux du Grand Dakar et de Colobane
 Au Nord
o Les villages traditionnels de Yoff, Ngor, Ouakam fagocités par la ville dans son expansion
o Les quartiers dortoirs de Pikine, Guédiawaye et des Parcelles Assainies.

My name is Abdou, your dear guide. I specialize in the culture and history of Senegal. I offer you a tour that is supposed to provide a little taste of Dakar by showing you various neighborhoods.

The Dakar fortress was founded by the French colonial authority. However, there was a native village nearby whose name was distorted to name this fortress. I would be happy to show you Dakar through these different neighborhoods. At the end of this visit you will have a good understanding of how Dakar is constituted. You will have learned a little history, gastronomy, our culture and the lifestyle of the locals. You can then return to visit certain areas that you have discovered.
The visit to this great African metropolis will be composed as follows:
In the South - City center which revolves around the independence square which is the Heart and where the presidential palace, the National Assembly, the Cathedral of African Remembrance are located
To the east - Medina which is one of the first districts of Dakar
o In the City of Ambassadors, residential area
o The populous districts of Grand Dakar and Colobane
North
o The traditional villages of Yoff, Ngor, Ouakam favored by the city in its expansion
o The dormitory districts of Pikine, Guédiawaye and Parcelles Assainies.
